What is a gif?
GIF stands for Graphical Interchange Format. In other words it is a continuous series of images layed out in a specific order used to create animation. However, one of the most. important qualities of a GIF is that it loops. This allows for frames to be played over and over again naturally and without a specific start or end point.
Pixel Art Creation
When creating pixel art or low resolution drawings I use Aseprite. I was first introduced to Aseprite freshman year of college in my game design class. Although I am not a game designer anymore I use some of the skills I learned in that class and implement it into my designs today. Pixel art can be a unique and creative way of presenting certain designs and not to mention it brings out imagination and fun.
GIF Research and Inspiration
While trying to think of an idea for a GIF I explored the internet to see what other people were doing. I was surprised to how much variety there was. There were GIFS that took a more realistic approach to others that took a very cartoony approach. After looking at GIFS in a specific area of interest I noticed that I liked the style the GIF was done in, however I wanted to think of a more unique/creative approach that was also very simplistic. Here are some of my inspirations:

Game Creation
Despite being a Design Major specializing in Media Studies and Communications, Quinnipiac University’s curriculum has allowed me to expand and grow in ways even outside of my major. This has allowed me to develop skills I never even knew I had. By taking game design I have been able to incorporate many innovative and creative ideas into my work and projects. For this specific project I had to create numerous video game compositions and finalize one of the ideas. The game I came up with and spent the semester working on was called “Rings of Fire”
